|The Kaaba, an enormous cuboid building that stands tall and brilliant in Makkah, is the most sacred site according to Islamic belief. It's so revered that the Muslim faithful face the direction of the Kaaba during prayers. The shrine is made of granite and stands 43ft high with the sides measuring approx. 36ft by 42ft. At the entrance stands a large gold door that bears inscriptions of prayers, holy names and Qu'ran verses.
